About Mount Dimats
Mount Dimats, situated in the Tavush Province of Armenia, stands as one of the prominent peaks within the picturesque landscapes of the region. With an elevation reaching approximately 2,525 meters (8,284 feet) above sea level, Mount Dimats offers not only stunning panoramic views but also serves as a hub for outdoor enthusiasts seeking hiking and trekking adventures.
The mountain is part of the Ijevan mountain range, which is renowned for its diverse flora and fauna, including lush forests, alpine meadows, and rocky terrain. Hiking trails leading to the summit of Mount Dimats provide opportunities for both novice and experienced trekkers to explore the natural beauty of the area.
Itinerary
We will start the trip at 8AM from Yerevan and head to Haghartsin monsatery. After a short tour around the monastery the instructor with horses will meet us and we will start our horseback ride .
After getting acquainted with the horses, we will have a short practical lesson, after which we will start. Our road passes through forests with picturesque views to the Ijevan mountain range, which is a perfect place for horseriding.
The ascent would last from 1,5 to 2 hours. At the top of mount Dimats, we will have time for taking photos, having lunch and just enjoy.
After the summit we will ride down to the car and head back to Yerevan.
